Wet wet wet…

The rains haven’t stopped for the last four days - so no hot water for those of us depending on the solar heating tubes. A bit if a challenge, but at least we have no more boys in the clinic, having had 26 of them pass through with a mini epidemic of ‘flu as the weather became cold. Of course all the literature says ’ you dont catch influenza from getting cold’  - but everyone here knows that people get sick when the weather changes. And we have the temperature charts to prove it! At last we find a good use for the television Rinpoche passed on to us, and the boys rig up an ingenious arial that depends on two coat hooks and the door handle - cunning, as the screen goes all fuzzy when we walk in. If there were more than three channels to choose from I would suspect a Plot. But you cant come to much harm with Nepali pop tunes (dancing videos often shot at Nagi Gompa!), a news channel and home-made Nepali soaps. No wonder they all get better so fast - boredom is a great cure!
